Our Mission

Iridian Genomes was founded in 2004 to fund genomic sequencing for species unlikely to be eligible for funding elsewhere. Projects to date have included plants, insects, a bird, and a jellyfish. Please email for more information.



Jellyfish Genome data Released
Alatina moseri genome released in Genbank. Additional clone-based sequencing is in progress to improve assembly quality and close gaps.

Periodical 17-Year Cicada Library in Progress
The recent emergence of the Seventeen-Year Cicada in Maryland has provided samples for construction of a BAC library, now in progress at CUGI (Clemson University Genomics Institute).
